The Buzz 🐝
At Google Cloud Next 2025, major announcements included the introduction of Gemini 2.5 Flash, optimized for low latency and cost-efficiency, featuring dynamic reasoning that adjusts processing time based on query complexity. They also introduced Agent2Agent which is an open protocol that lets AI agents from different platforms talk to each other and collaborate seamlessly.

Another big news from Google was the introduction of Firebase Studio which lets you build and deploy your apps with prompt. You can think of like Cursor + Replit + Firebase rolled into one
So there you go, Firebase Studio lets you vibe code your way to a full app because who needs version control when you've got vibes and prompts?!
Microsoft turned 50 last week and as part of the announcements, they gave Copilot a some upgrades to make it more useful. It can now remember personal stuff like your favorite foods, hobbies and others (ChatGPT introduced a similar functionality too). Plus, the new “actions” feature means it can actually do things for you, like book tickets or fill out forms.
You can also watch the opening speech by Satya Nadella below:
And the last buzz item for this week, Amazon unveiled Nova Sonic, a real-time speech-to-speech model for natural voice conversations, and Nova Reel 1.1, a video generation model that creates high-quality, two-minute clips from text and image prompts

AI Index 2025: State of AI in 10 Charts
Stanford just dropped their 2025 AI Index, and it’s a snapshot of where things stand. The US is still leading in big models and private $$$, but China’s catching up fast on research and patents. Also, open-weight models and better hardware are making AI way more accessible but the risks and misuse stuff is ramping up too.

Autotuning: A comprehensive approach to Time Series Forecasting
Walmart’s Autotuning framework forecasts over 100,000 time series daily, replacing one-size-fits-all models with tailored ones for each node. In one project, it consistently outperformed a Prophet baseline across five forecast refreshes, reducing MAPE across 400 weekly time series.
